The morning walk starts at your door

The first visit of the day is the one that gets everyone moving: leashes clipped, a loop round the neighbourhood, water changed, and back inside settled rather than pacing. The photo reaches you before you have finished your coffee.

The middle of your workday, covered

Midday walks are the plainest thing we do and the most booked. Nine hours is a long time to ask a dog to hold on, and the Tysons commute is not going to shorten. Walk sized to the dog, bathroom break, fresh water, and the house left the way it was found.

Evening feed goes down in the right bowls, and anything on a schedule happens the way it is written in the notes: the twice-daily tablet, the prescription food, the cat who cannot have what the other cat is having. Then a while on the sofa, because that part matters too.

When a stay happens in Shannon's home rather than yours, the handoff is the stop that matters: the leash off, the bed found, the routine explained once so it runs the same every evening. Two guests maximum keeps it calm. The photo proves they are down, not still pacing by the door.

Yes. A check-in with photos goes out after each visit, so you can see the actual dog on the actual couch rather than wonder. That is how Shannon runs every drop-in, walk and boarding stay.

Dogs and cats in their own homes, plus rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets. We care for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets. Shannon is a bun-mom herself; her Netherland Dwarf rabbits Papa and Stinky are part of why small mammals are on the list. We do not take horses or livestock.

Your pet stays in Shannon's supervised home environment rather than a kennel building. PetBacker lists a maximum of two pets watched at once, which keeps the setup calm and personal. It suits dogs and cats who do fine with company but not with a facility full of strangers.

Yes, both. Tell us the dose, the timing and where it is kept when you book, and it goes into the visit notes. Anything you would normally hand off to a neighbour with an apology is the sort of thing that belongs in the notes instead.

A visit while you are at work or out on errands: a walk, water topped up, a bathroom break, and a note when it is done. It is the most common standing booking we run, and it is the one that keeps a crated dog from waiting nine hours.

We do. Overnight stays suit dogs who unravel when the house is empty after dark. Vacation visits without an overnight work for most cats and for many settled dogs.

For a first booking, yes, and it is worth it. We meet the animals in the house, learn where the leash, the food and the medication live, and sort out keys or a door code before the first real visit.
