Shannon and a team that shows up
Furry Friends Virginia is Shannon’s home-based pet care business, founded in April 2024 and built around photo check-ins, honest capacity and animals who stay in their own routine.
Why it is worth knowing who is coming
Most of what makes pet care good is not technique. It is familiarity. A sitter who has been to your house eleven times knows that your dog always eats straight away, always sleeps on the second stair, and has never once ignored the back door. So on the morning he does all three differently, she notices, and that is the entire value.
Shannon leads a team of pet care professionals rather than a rotating app roster. That means the same faces learn your house, your keys and your animal’s normal, and “off” actually means something when somebody has a baseline.
She is a bun-mom herself: two Netherland Dwarf rabbits named Papa and Stinky. That is part of why rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets are on the accepted list alongside dogs and cats. She is working toward NAPPS certification and books through phone, email and the TimeToPet client portal.
What we cover
Dogs and cats in their own homes, home-based boarding in Shannon’s supervised setup, and small mammals when the notes call for it. Medication and special diets go into the visit notes and happen the same way every time, whoever is doing that visit.
We work fairfax, arlington, alexandria and tysons: Fairfax County, Arlington County, Alexandria City, Tysons Corner and expanding into Prince William County and Washington DC. If you are just past the edge of that, call and we will tell you honestly rather than take the booking and hope.
